Barterbot is software from Barterbox (“we,” “us,” and “our”). These terms apply when you use Barterbot’s website, marketplace, AI tools, or Reddit community app. By creating an account or using a service, you agree to them.

What Barterbot provides
Barterbot provides a marketplace and AI-assisted tools for describing, valuing, buying, selling, and trading second-hand items. Results are informational starting points. They may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong, and do not replace inspection, live comparable sales, professional advice, or your own judgment.
Accounts
Provide accurate account information, keep your sign-in credentials secure, and use only accounts you are authorized to control. You are responsible for activity under your account and must be legally able to enter any transaction you choose to make.
Listings and transactions
You are responsible for your listing text, photos, ownership claims, condition, price, and transaction decisions. Check authenticity, legality, payment, shipping, and counterparty identity before committing. Unless a screen expressly says otherwise, Barterbox is not the buyer, seller, trader, shipper, or guarantor and does not guarantee an item, user, valuation, payment, delivery, or outcome.
Fees, credits, and payments
Barterbot may charge for AI usage through prepaid credits and may apply the selling or trade transaction fees shown before you confirm an action. Credits are service-use balances, not cash or a bank account. Payment, refund, fee, and tax details displayed at checkout or confirmation are part of these terms. Payment and shipping providers may impose their own terms.
AI and publishing
You authorize Barterbot to process the text, photos, listing details, and conversation context you submit to produce requested AI output. Review every draft, valuation, and suggested action. Publishing to Barterbot or an external marketplace requires the confirmation shown in the product; once published, the destination marketplace’s rules also apply.
Location and shipping
Location features help search, describe pickup areas, or arrange delivery. Share only the precision needed for the transaction, and do not place a home address in a public listing. You are responsible for confirming meetup safety, shipping details, package contents, insurance, and delivery terms with the other party and any carrier.
Reddit community app
You keep ownership of content you post. When you invoke the Reddit app, you authorize the limited processing needed to normalize visible trade tags, evaluate an eligible post or comment, and publish the requested reply. Reddit activity remains subject to Reddit’s terms, policies, and the rules of the installed community. Barterbox is not a party to a Reddit trade.
Acceptable use
Do not use a service to facilitate fraud, stolen or prohibited goods, harassment, platform-rule evasion, or other unlawful conduct. Do not extract secrets, bypass limits, disrupt the service, scrape private data, or present AI output as a verified appraisal.
Availability and changes
We may change, suspend, rate-limit, or discontinue a service to protect users, comply with platform requirements, or improve the service. We may update these terms; the effective date above will change when we do.
Warranty and liability
The services are provided “as is” and “as available,” to the extent permitted by law. Barterbox disclaims implied warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or transaction losses arising from reliance on the marketplace or AI output.
